Our previoos organist David O'Shea, in addition to being an accomplished and enthusiastic organist, was a  valued and much loved member of our church family.

David completes a music degree at the DIT Conservatory of Music with a specialisation in musicology; his areas of research interest include the music of Liszt and performance practice of 19th century piano music.

David has lots of experience as a piano teacher, as a piano accompanist, harpsichord/organ continuo-player (in which capacity David performed at the 2009 Sligo Baroque Festival) and as a repetiteur (rehearsal pianist). David currently works as repetiteur with the Dublin Bach Singers and has recently worked in this capacity with the Glasthule Opera for their 2009 and 2010 seasons.

David has many performances to his name as a solo pianist and piano accompanist around Ireland, including at the National Concert Hall on many occasions.  Recently David played the organ in Chester Cathedral.  He is won the Swords Young Musician of the Year Award 2005, also the Lucy Donnelly Cup, the Tomás Ó Súilleabháin Trophy, Senior Piano Sonata and Senior Piano Recital prizes at DIT, and the Larchet Cup at the Feis Ceoil three years in succession.

David holds a Licentiate diploma from Trinity College London, and currently studies piano with Shirin Tobin at the DIT Conservatory and organ with Tristan Russcher at Christ Church and St Patrick's cathedrals.  Recently David performed in an organ masterclass with Susan Landale, and will soon feature on a charity CD of recordings on organs built by the Irish organ-builder Stephen Adams.

David has been richly blessed with natural talent and our congregation is privileged to be able to enjoy his musical leadership of our worship, Sunday by Sunday.
